About
A curious
beginning
The Cocktail Botanist began with biodiversity, homemade sake and a little too much curiosity.
We were two colleagues — an environmental scientist and an engineer — working together on a biodiversity project when our interest in plants began spilling into our experiments at home.
We were brewing sake at the time and started adding fruits, herbs and spices, just to see what would happen.
Some experiments were better than others.
But we discovered something: botanicals could completely transform a drink.
So we kept experimenting. Sake became spirits, experiments became recipes, and eventually six rather curious infusions emerged.
The Cocktail Botanist was born.

Botanicals, spirit and a little scientific mischief.
The experiment continues
Today, we're still led by the same idea: take something familiar and make it more interesting.
Our botanical infusions are only the beginning. The Cabinet is where we'll collect whatever catches our curiosity next — unusual ingredients, beautiful drinking objects and things you probably didn't know your bar needed.
After all, a good experiment rarely ends where it started.
